The Marine Tap Room was a tavern located on the South Side of Chicago, around 59th and Halsted, which opened around 1934. My Great-Grandfather, Arthur Wadman, opened this pub just after Prohibition ended, and his family, including my Grandmother, lived in the apartment upstairs until around 1943. This sweatshirt is a tribute to my family, as well as the History of Chicago, where we all grew up.
The sweatshirt features the Marine Tap logo on the front, with the famous 'Positively No Dancing Allowed' sign on the back.
More history about the Marine Tap can be found here.
There is also a pint glass for sale, which can be found here, and a T-shirt, which can be found here.
