Pour yourself a taste of the high country. This vintage moonshine label design brings you back to a tumbledown cabin in the hills, where Gentle Jack Jones ran a small-batch operation on cold mountain spring water and a two-dollar price tag.
Hand-drawn in an old-time engraving style, the artwork frames a moonlit mountain scene with a smoking stone cabin, a stoneware whiskey jug, and a storm rolling over the ridge. Ornate scrollwork, wildflowers, wheat, ferns, and a lucky horseshoe finish it off. It’s crisp white ink on your choice of colors, and it looks like it was peeled off a dusty bottle from 1930.
Inspired by “Brown-Eyed Women,” the Grateful Dead’s Prohibition-era ballad of moonshine, hard times, and family, this design imagines the label Jack Jones might have slapped on his own bottles. Deadheads will spot the references right away: Bigfoot County, the 1930 date, and the two-dollar whiskey that “burned like hell.”
Fans of the song will catch the references right away. Everyone else will just see a great-looking piece of mountain Americana.
